Used vehicle market price declines inches closer to historical average

Canada’s used wholesale market saw prices decline -0.42% for the week ending on Feb. 3 which, like last week, is not too far (in comparison to some of 2023’s price declines) from the previous week’s -0.63%. And the 2017-2019 average of the same week was -0.28%, according to Canadian Black Book.

December marks fourth consecutive month of decline for used car prices

Retail used vehicle values ​​fell by 5.6% on a year-on-year and like-for-like basis last month to £17,064, according to Auto Trader’s Retail Price Index.

Auto Trader has reported another fall in used car prices with values ​​plummeting for the third month in a row.

The firm has today (Dec 4) published its monthly Retail Price Index, which shows that the average price of a used car on its platform stood at £17,319 in November.

Auto Trader said used car prices advertised on its platform fell 2.5% in November, compared to October.
