Suzuki Thailand has announced a new pricing structure for the Suzuki Fronx, offering discounts of up to 100,000 baht on select models. The entry-level GL 4AT now starts at 599,000 baht, down from the original 689,000 baht. The MHEV GLX 6AT is available for 649,000 baht, while the MHEV GLX Plus 6AT begins at 699,000 baht, a reduction from 799,000 baht. All variants are completely imported from Indonesia (CBU).

Two ways to buy

Customers have two distinct options when purchasing a Fronx. The first is a direct price cut, which is available exclusively to “Suzuki Family” members. To qualify, a buyer must either own a current Suzuki vehicle in their name or have a registered account in the Suzuki Family application with a family member’s car listed. The second option involves a zero-percent interest financing scheme for lease-to-own customers, provided they make a minimum down payment of 25 percent and spread payments over 48 months. This zero-percent option is open to everyone, including those switching brands.

Specs and dimensions

The Fronx is offered with two engine choices. The standard model uses a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 105 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The MHEV model utilizes a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid setup with 101 horsepower and a 6-speed automatic. Technically, the car measures 3,995 x 1,765 x 1,550 millimeters and sits on a 2,520-millimeter wheelbase. It offers a ground clearance of 170 millimeters, which is lower than the Toyota Yaris Cross or Honda WR-V but comparable to the Mazda CX-3.

Practicality is a key selling point, particularly for families. The cargo area provides 290 liters of space, which expands to 1,009 liters when the rear seats are folded. Standard equipment includes a 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 16-inch alloy wheels, and LED daytime running lights. Safety features consist of a 3-point ELR seatbelt in the front with height adjustment, rear 3-point seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and electronic stability control (ESP).

Technical details

The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, identified by the code K15B, utilizes a DOHC layout with 16 valves and a displacement of 1,462 cc. It features a 10.5:1 compression ratio and multi-point fuel injection (MPI) technology. This powertrain generates 105 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm. It is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD) layout. The suspension system employs MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam axle at the rear. Braking includes ventilated disc brakes at the front.

The MHEV variant employs a 1.5-liter engine coded K15C, which also utilizes a DOHC 16-valve MPI system but operates at a higher compression ratio of 12.0:1. This engine produces 101 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 135 Nm. It works in conjunction with a DC Synchronous Motor that provides an additional 3.1 horsepower and 60 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and FWD drivetrain. The vehicle is equipped with a Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 6 Ah.

Additional standard equipment across models includes front wipers with a delay function, single rear wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels in a two-tone design with 195/60 R16 tires, and front seat adjustments in four directions. Interior controls are located on the steering wheel. The central touchscreen measures 7 inches. The rear seats offer a 60:40 split-folding mechanism. Cabin amenities include rear air conditioning vents and a rear child lock.

Advanced driver-assistance systems include Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Hill Hold Control. Safety equipment consists of three-point ELR seatbelts in the front with height adjustment and auto-tensioning, along with three-point ELR seatbelts in the rear. The vehicle includes two ISOFIX child seat anchor points for the rear row.
